The Royal School for Deaf Children Margate was established in 1792 to provide education and residential provision for deaf children.

We are a non-maintained day and special school with Registered Children's Home for young people who are d/Deaf or who have a hearing impairment or associated communication difficulties. Most of our young people have additional educational, emotional, behavioural or medical problems.

The School, 6th Form and Westgate College, our further education provision, are situated on a large site in the centre of Margate. Our facilities include classrooms, technology centre incorporating IT, Art Design and Technology, library, hall, fully equipped medical centre, soft play and sensory room, sensory garden, specialist therapy rooms and extensive grounds and playing fields.  Our new Hydrotherapy Pool, Disability Gym and cafe will be opened in 2014.
